Event Description

Step into the beautiful and intricate mind of artist Andrew Jones.

Earth Frequency is honoured to present Samskara, as part of the 2019 Android Jones Australian tour.

A 360 degree immersive trip like no other, Samskara will take you deep in to the mind of one of today's foremost visionary artists and digital pioneers - Android Jones. It is based on ancient Vedic tales and Sanskrit mantras. A journey through consciousness, beyond the mind, to discover the inner self, Samskara takes the audience from creation, through evolution, corruption, conflict and destruction, to eventual rebirth and a path to enlightenment. Join us on the continuing spiritual journey.

Samskara will be showing at the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium with multiple sessions on Thursday February 21st, with Android Jones in attendance, and some repeat sessions through February and March.

"SAMSKARA is a soul's impression, the hardly felt emotional track in the subconscious. We travel from life to life between strange worlds and spaces but we are not able to remember this, just keeping the Samskars. We don't know what we are looking for with just the constant feeling of a lost happiness and the thirst for change driving us forward. The only thing we are sure at - is that what we are looking for does exist."

"Samskara is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Jones’ work is a beautiful mesh of fractals, pixels, and digital bits that form together to create Eastern-inspired art. Working with his team, he was able to transpose it into the 3D world, and without even having to put on a head set, you’re able to experience his world and his mind from the comforts of a bean bag and staring up into the unending universe provided by the 360 Dome."

The venue for Samskara is the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.

Getting there

The Planetarium is five kilometres from Brisbane’s city centre and sits within the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. There is free on-site parking available, including disabled and bus parking.

You can also travel to the Planetarium by bus. From the city, take bus 471 or the Great City Circle bus (598 or 599) from various suburbs. Visit the TransLink website for more information.

Please be aware of the Planetarium door policy

We normally have a very strict policy of no late admittance once the presentation is underway.  If we are going to be following the same rule for the Samskara presentations then it might be an idea to include this caveat in any publicity material.  Just a basic statement such as “Please note that there is no late entry to the presentation once the doors to the theatre have closed.
