"Dance translates what I cannot say in words. Dance connects me with the Universe. Dance connects me with you."
- Mestra Rosangela Silvestre

Attention all dance lovers, there is a super beautiful experience coming to Adelaide in October in 2020!

With great anticipation, we are extending the invitation for dancers from across the country to join us for the incredible opportunity to attend a six day intensive course of the Silvestre Technique Training Process right here in Adelaide, with the presence of the teachers and musicians who guide the training in Salvador, Brazil.

The training is open to all and we welcome this space for everyone, all dancers - who move for personal benefit, as a way of life, or for professional practice.

It will be a great honour to participate in completing the dance training practice process in Adelaide, as we can do in Brazil with certified Silvestre Technique Teachers, musicians and dance music composers who collectively create the unique environment of this training process.

Under the guidance of Mestra Rosangela Silvestre and her expert team, participants will spend 6 days exploring the elements of Silvestre Technique - contemporary dance technique with the objective of conditioning the dancer through physical and expressive training, regardless of level or previous experience.

Attendees will grow to understand the Symbology of Orixa Dances - a study of the connections between the rhythms and the traditional movement, archetype and story, of the Orixa dances interpreted as an art form, to discover how the sacred inspires the body to dance.

The intensive will also cover the art of Composition - with participants developing the skills to use the gestures of the Orixa dances in combination with the Silvestre Technique to inspire the creation of a dance choreography. Journey through Individual dance expression, theme, and improvisation to develop sequences of movements for collaborative choreography composition.

To end the program, participants can take part in an informal performance on the closing of the event on Saturday night, which will involve practice and a technical rehearsal. This performance is not mandatory, but is a wonderful way to end the program, to experience dancing together, and to further explore the foundation of all the Silvestre Intensive provides.
