Event Description
Sprigg Salon Conversations: Wangka Walytja: The life and times of the Papunya Literature Production Centre

Join exhibition curators Karen McDonald, Roslyn Dixon, and Samantha Disbray for an evening discussion and viewing of the Wangka Walytja - the Life and Times of the Papunya Literature Production Centre exhibition.

Wangka Walytja showcases the extraordinary achievements of the Papunya Literature Production Centre, where, from 1979 to 1990, writers, artists, elders, and literacy workers created hundreds of beautifully illustrated books in Pintupi-Luritja for the school's bilingual program. Gain a greater understanding of the impact that the Centre has had on the local community and further afield through an in-depth discussion between curators instrumental to this exhibition.

About the Sprigg Salon Series

The Sprigg Salon series provides audiences with access to the latest thinking around cultural, scientific, and natural world research and discoveries here in South Australia and around the world. It is named in honour of Dr Reg Sprigg AO, a remarkable South Australian geologist who discovered the world’s oldest fossilised animals in the Flinders Ranges in 1946, now recognised around the world as the Ediacara fossils.

This series of events is proudly supported by Beach Energy.
