Tour to Cleanaway MRF and CLAW Environmental

Join the City of Joondalup and the City of Wanneroo in a joint tour as part of the Plastic Free July Campaign. You will be taken into the educational room at the Cleanaway Material Recovery Facility and get to see how recycling is sorted and bailed. Next you will be taken to CLAW Environmental where you will be taken around the working site and look at the different types of plastics and how they are processed. Please come ready with lots of questions, the staff are looking forward to answering them for you.   

Details

8.45am – City of Wanneroo pick up - front of the Civic Centre/library building (3 Rocca way, Wanneroo)

9.05am – City of Joondalup pick up - Timberlane Park, Woodvale (17 Althaea Way, Woodvale)

Approx. 30min drive - Cleanaway Material Recovery Facility

10am – Arrive at Cleanaway Material Recovery Facility to commence tour

11.15am – Morning tea/early lunch (provided)

12pm – Leave Cleanaway, make way to CLAW Environmental

12.30pm - Arrive CLAW Environmental to commence tour

2pm – Depart CLAW Environmental 

2.45pm – Arrive (approx.) at Timberlane Park – City of Joondalup drop off

3pm – Arrive (approx.) at Civic Centre/library building – City of Wanneroo drop off

Please note the times are approx. based on traffic, but we will try and stick to them as close as possible. 

Accessibility: please note at the Cleanaway MRF, you will be required to walk up approximately 35 steps.

Other information: 

• Enclosed shoes and long sleeves/pants must be worn.  


• Bring your own water bottle.


• Come with lots of questions on waste, recycling and plastics.


• Lunch is provided at Cleanaway on behalf of the City of Joondalup and the City of Wanneroo.

The workshop will only be cancelled if there are insufficient enrolments received one day prior to the event or due to factors beyond the City’s control.
