Event Description

Global trends, Local opportunities

The annual WA Works Conference 2019 will provide delegates with unique insights into some of WA's key current and future major resource and infrastructure projects.

Join CCIWA for a full day of presentations and quality discussion on this year's topic - Global trends, Local opportunities - from senior industry leaders, WA Government Ministers and project executives.

Our outstanding keynotes will deliver updates on and insights into key projects worth tens of billions of dollars, including the supply chain opportunities. You'll learn what projects are in the pipeline so that you're better placed to capitalise on the business opportunities being created.

With global growth expected to ease this year, Western Australia contractors are eager to hear how the latest economic shifts in Asia, America and Europe will affect their business.

The event will also offer a look at the bigger picture, exploring the macro factors affecting the industry so you can best position your business to take advantage of what's to come.

Hear from the following keynote speakers:

  • The Hon. Alannah MacTiernan MLC, Minister for Regional Development; Agriculture and Foods; Ports (The Economic State of Our Regions)

  • Don Hyma - Project Director, Fortescue (Iron Bridge Magnetite Project)

  • Anthony Kannis, Project Director, Metronet and Ross Hamilton, Executive Director, Major Projects, Metronet

  • John McMeekan, Managing Director - Iron Ore and Energy & Minerals Projects, Rio Tinto (Iron Ore Project Portfolio and potential contracting opportunities for WA companies)

  • Niall Myles, Senior Vice President NSW & Burrup Hub, Woodside

  • Rick Newnham, Chief Economist, CCIWA (WA Economic Update)

  • Chris Pratt, Project Director, Acciona Australia (Kwinana Thermal Waste to Energy (WtE) plant Project update)

  • Vikas Rambal, Chairman, Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers (Karratha Urea Project Update)

Our MC for the conference is Karen Tighe, an outstanding Australian sports reporter and presenter, anchoring golf, tennis and other major sports broadcasts for the ABC’s radio and television programs.

This conference is not to be missed. Subscribe to our events e-newsletter - The Guide - for updates as they happen.

Join us for dinner

The WA Works Conference 2019 is held in conjunction with the annual CCIWA Construction Industry Dinner, the state's largest and most prestigious networking event for the resources and construction sectors with a history spanning 30 years.

The conference runs during the day and most delegates stay on to join us for the high-profile dinner in the Crown Ballroom with plenty of quality entertainment and valuable networking opportunities.
