The City of Cockburn offers a Waterwise Verge Rebate Program, this initiative is proudly co-funded by Water Corporation’s Waterwise Greening Scheme and forms part of our ambition for The City of Cockburn to be a leading waterwise community.
Join Chris Ferreira to learn all about Waterwise Verges, what that looks like, how the City of Cockburn will help you with your verge and how that can positively impact your home.
This Hands-On workshop will help you to understand the what, why and how to make your verge waterwise and wonderful.
The Waterwise Pop-Up Garden and Verge will be on display from Friday 1 April until Thursday 7 April 2022 with two workshops by Chris on Saturday 2 April and Wednesday 6 April.
The pop-up was due to appear at Coogee Live 2022, which was unfortunately cancelled. With the support of The Forever Project and Water Corporation, the City has adapted the offering into a week-long display outside Spearwood Library.
Get advice on your verge and how to apply for the Waterwise Verge Subsidy from the City. This subsidy offers $250 up to $500 for residents to improve their verges by removing water thirsty lawn, then planting waterwise plants and adding in water saving mulch. Not only does it look spectacular, it creates habitat for our native birds and animals, saves water and can save you money on your water bill.
This event is COVID-safe, please register your attendance for the day, the workshop seating will be spaced 2m apart (outside), there is a QR Code check-in, and hand sanitiser and masks will be available for those without.
