Spend the Saturdays of Summer at Cockatoo Island's Sunset Sessions, our relaxed live music series.
20 January – Mi-Kaisha

With a voice that triple j declared to be "just like silk,” Mi-Kaisha draws equally from soul tradition and pop melody, guided by hard-hitting lyrics about her experience as a young Aboriginal and Pacific Islander woman.
As an artist and storyteller, Mi-kaisha is also an advocate with a responsibility to actively support her communities and work against the systems that have perpetually oppressed Pacific Islanders and First Nations Peoples in Australia.
Supporting Mi-Kaisha is the 'R&B angel' Anieszka. Anieszka fuses R&B, neo-soul and her Mauritian roots with her thought-provoking writing to create soothing and viviacious sounds that have been championed by the likes of triple j, Bandcamp Daily, BBC Radio, RUSSH Magazine and more. With headliner shows in both Sydney and Melbourne, and at BIGSOUND 2023 in Brisbane, her appearance at Sunset Sessions performance is an opportunity to get up closer and personal to this rising star.

For the shows scheduled between 13 January to 16 March, doors open at 5pm and close at 8pm. For the shows on 23 March, 30 March and 6 April, doors open at 4pm and close at 7pm. See below for the artist line-up:
